The Social Selling Index (SSI) is a LinkedIn score assessing how you use the platform for social selling. Your score ranges from 0 to 100 and consists of four components.
LinkedIn assesses four components: establish your professional brand, find the right people, engage with insights and build strong relationships. According to LinkedIn's explanation, checked on 24 October 2026, each component can contribute up to 25 points to the total of 100.
SSI concerns how you use LinkedIn to build business relationships. A clear profile, relevant connections and meaningful interaction fit that purpose. It is not a general assessment of your selling ability or a measure of revenue.
Use the components to review your approach. Does your profile explain what you do? Are you talking to relevant people and contributing to conversations? A higher SSI does not prove that you win more customers; also measure conversations, suitable enquiries and won deals.
Tip
Do not chase points by collecting as many connections or comments as possible. Consider the quality of your contacts and the outcomes of your conversations alongside your SSI score.
