Content and brand

Social media marketing covers everything you do on platforms like Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube and Pinterest to build awareness, stay in touch and win customers.

It has three parts that reinforce each other: organic content you post, paid ads that buy reach, and the interaction itself — comments, messages and community. Posting without replying leaves most of the effect on the table.

What works differs per platform. LinkedIn is strong for professional services and sharing expertise, Instagram and TikTok run on video and recognisability, Pinterest behaves more like a search engine with a long shelf life. Pasting one message onto five channels rarely works; adapting the same idea per platform does.

Measure realistically. Followers say little; saves, clicks through, requests and repeat purchases say more. Organic reach has fallen on almost every platform, so plan for a mix of good content and ad budget.

Tip

Pick a few strong ideas a week and follow through on them properly. That usually pays off more than posting daily without a plan.
