Rich results are search results with extra elements: stars, prices, availability, breadcrumbs, expandable questions or an image.
They come from structured data on your page plus Google's decision to display it. Valid markup grants eligibility, not a guarantee.
Rich results do not raise your position — structured data is not a ranking factor. What you gain is visibility and space, and often a higher CTR.
Tip
Only mark up what's genuinely visible on the page, and keep prices, stock and dates current: that keeps your markup valid and your rich results intact.
