Strategy and planning
Online marketing is the whole set of digital channels you use to get found, earn attention and win customers: search engines, ads, social media, email, your website and content.
The difference with offline marketing is mainly measurability and steering. You can see which channel brings visitors, which pages produce requests and roughly what a customer costs. That lets you adjust in weeks instead of seasons.
Each channel plays a different role in the customer journey. Ads and social build awareness and demand, SEO and AI search engines catch people already looking, email and CRM keep existing relationships warm. Judging them on one number is unfair: a channel that builds awareness rarely scores on last click.
What makes online marketing work is not the number of channels but the coherence: one clear message, a website that delivers what the ad promised, and measurement you can trust. Without that foundation, extra budget mostly widens the leak.
Tip
Give credit to channels that build awareness and demand too, not just the last click. That way brand building keeps counting and you keep cost per customer in check.
