Brandable/The HubSpot Hubs explained

The HubSpot Hubs explained

Seven Hubs on one database. What's inside each, what it costs and which ones you actually need.

HubSpot consists of seven Hubs on one shared CRM database. That's the whole idea: you're not buying separate tools, you're switching on functionality against the same contacts, companies and deals. Below: exactly what sits in each Hub, what it costs and when you need it.

Unsure about the combination? The cost calculator runs your configuration and the package selector gives a recommendation in five questions.

Marketing Hub

The oldest and most mature part. What's inside:

  • Email marketing with a drag-and-drop editor, personalisation tokens and A/B testing (A/B from Professional)
  • Forms and pop-ups, including progressive profiling: ask different fields on a second download
  • Landing pages with a visual editor
  • Marketing automation: nurture flows, lead scoring, internal notifications
  • Ad management for Google, LinkedIn and Meta, including feedback on which ad produced which deal
  • Social publishing and monitoring
  • SEO recommendations and topic clusters
  • Campaigns: a layer that bundles all assets and measures the result as a whole
  • Attribution reporting (Professional and up)

The biggest strength: marketing and sales look at the same contact records. The biggest limitation: the serious features sit behind Professional ($890 per month).

Watch the marketing contacts. Marketing Hub charges for contacts you actively email or advertise to. Contacts you merely store are free up to a high limit. Get this right from day one — it's the most common cause of a runaway invoice.

Sales Hub

  • Deals and pipelines (multiple pipelines from Professional)
  • Sequences: automated series of 1-to-1 emails with tasks in between
  • Meeting links — your own booking page, integrated with the CRM
  • Quotes and, since 2026, full CPQ via Revenue Hub
  • Call recording and analysis
  • Forecasting
  • Playbooks: call guides shown on screen during a conversation
  • Prospecting workspace: one screen where an SDR works through their day

Pricing: Starter from $20 per month per core seat, Professional from $100 per month including one sales seat, Enterprise from $150 per sales seat.

Service Hub

  • Ticketing with queues, SLAs and escalations
  • Knowledge base, publicly searchable
  • Live chat and chatbots
  • Customer satisfaction: NPS, CSAT, CES
  • Customer portal where customers track their own tickets
  • Breeze Customer Agent handling questions autonomously

This is where AI makes the biggest difference in 2026. An agent resolving 65% of conversations at roughly $0.50 per resolved conversation is, at any volume, cheaper than an extra service rep. The condition: a populated, current knowledge base. Without good content it becomes a chatbot that says "I don't know".

Content Hub

The successor to CMS Hub, repositioned around AI content creation.

  • Website and blog management with themes and drag-and-drop
  • Content Remix: automatically create channel variants from one piece
  • Brand voice: train HubSpot on your own tone
  • Podcast and video hosting
  • Memberships: gate content behind a login
  • A/B and adaptive testing on pages
  • Multi-language content — relevant if you run NL, BE and EN side by side

Content Hub is why HubSpot appeals to content-driven companies more than many alternatives: site, blog, forms and CRM live in one system, so attribution works without tracking glue.

Still, Content Hub isn't an automatic choice. For brands that want visual freedom or specific functionality, a custom-built website or WordPress with a clean HubSpot connection is often stronger. The question isn't "where do I build it" but "where does the data land".

Operations Hub / Data Hub

The least visible part, and the most interesting one for data people.

  • Two-way data sync with external systems
  • Programmable automation: JavaScript or Python inside a workflow
  • Data quality: duplicate management, formatting actions, error reports
  • Datasets and Data Studio: merge external sources into one dataset to report on
  • Sandbox environments (Enterprise) to test without breaking production

More than three systems holding customer data? Then this isn't a luxury.

Revenue Hub (formerly Commerce Hub)

Renamed and expanded in June 2026: quotes, CPQ, subscriptions, invoicing and payments — quote-to-cash next to your pipeline. Important for European companies: verify upfront that your local payment methods (SEPA direct debit, iDEAL, Bancontact) are supported before you build your billing process on it. Accounting stays in your finance system.

Breeze: the AI layer

Breeze runs through every Hub: assistant, agents and data enrichment. That deserves its own page — read HubSpot Breeze and AI.

Which Hubs do you actually need?

A practical order that works in most SME and B2B situations:

  1. Start with the CRM and Sales Hub. Without clean deals and activity data, every report is worthless.
  2. Add Marketing Hub once you generate leads structurally and want to know where they come from.
  3. Service Hub follows when support questions roam around shared inboxes and nobody knows what's open.
  4. Content Hub only if you genuinely want to move your website. Otherwise connect it.
  5. Data/Operations Hub when a third system with customer data enters the picture.

With two or more Hubs on Professional, always price the Customer Platform bundle.

Frequently asked questions

How many Hubs does HubSpot have?

Seven: Marketing, Sales, Service, Content, Operations/Data, Revenue and the underlying Smart CRM everything runs on.

Can I buy a single Hub?

Yes. Every Hub is available separately on Starter, Professional or Enterprise. With more than two Hubs on Professional the Customer Platform bundle is usually cheaper.

Does HubSpot include a website?

Yes, via Content Hub. But you can equally connect an existing WordPress or custom site to the CRM and forms. What works best depends on your brand, content volume and who manages the site.
