Content and brand
Pinterest is a visual search and inspiration service where people save images (pins) to boards, usually while planning or researching something.
Pinterest behaves more like a search engine than a social network: people search by topic, and a pin can still drive traffic months later. That makes it useful for planning-led subjects — interiors, fashion, renovation, food, weddings, gifts.
Every pin links to a page, so it is primarily a traffic channel. What helps: vertical imagery, text on the image, a clear title and description, and pins pointing to the right page rather than your homepage. Advertising runs through Pinterest Ads.
Tip
Give a pin time to build reach, since it grows more slowly than on social media but also lasts longer. That way you judge Pinterest on the right timescale.
