Cart abandonment

Cart abandonment is when someone adds products but doesn't complete the order. In webshops this happens to the majority of carts.
The best-known causes are unexpected shipping costs, a forced account, an overlong form and doubt about delivery or returns. Each of those is fixable in the checkout.
A reminder email within a few hours recovers some of it. Start by removing the cause; reminders are the safety net, not the solution.
