Smart bidding is automated bidding in Google Ads, where the system sets a bid per auction using conversion data and signals like device, location and time.
Common variants are target CPA, target ROAS, maximise conversions and maximise conversion value. It's only as good as the data you feed it: badly configured conversions lead to badly optimised bids.
Give a strategy time — usually two to three weeks — and don't change your target daily. Every major change restarts the learning phase.
