YouTube marketing

Advertising

YouTube marketing means using video and ads on YouTube to reach your audience, build awareness or drive conversions.

There are two sides. Organic: a channel with videos people search for or get recommended — explanations, demos, comparisons. YouTube is a search engine too, so titles, descriptions and the topic itself shape much of your reach.

Paid: ads bought through Google Ads that appear on YouTube, Shorts included. You pick a goal — reach and awareness, or action on the site — and the first seconds decide whether anyone keeps watching.

Video works best where explanation is needed: a product you have to see working, a service with a process, or a subject people have doubts about. For existing demand, search is usually more efficient.

In practice

Uploading a TV commercial. On YouTube the message has to land in the first five seconds, or nobody watches the rest.
