A wireframe is a bare sketch of a page containing only structure and order: which blocks, in what sequence, with what message.
Working without colour and imagery first keeps the conversation about content and order instead of a shade of blue. That saves expensive changes later.
Put real headlines in the wireframe, not lorem ipsum. Only with real copy can you tell whether the structure holds.
