DMAIC is the standard improvement cycle: Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control — scope the problem, measure, find causes, improve and sustain.
The last step is the one most often skipped. Without Control an improvement decays within a few months.
The model works as well for a conversion problem as for a production process: define sharply, measure first, only then invent solutions.
