Business coaching for entrepreneurs

A company that works is great. A company that fits you — with a role in your strengths, energy at the end of the day and time for what really matters — is what makes it worthwhile.

Business coaching for entrepreneurs

Building a company that works is one thing. Building a company that fits you — in which your own role gives energy instead of draining it — is something else entirely. And that second part ultimately decides whether you can keep it up, whether you enjoy it, and whether the business keeps growing in the long run.

That is why we are adding business coaching to our services. Not as a course or a theoretical programme, but as confidential conversations between a NOBCO-trained coach and fellow entrepreneur, and you as the owner.

"Success is doing ordinary things extraordinarily well." — Jim Rohn

What is a company actually worth?

Imagine: revenue is growing, the team is growing, your calendar is full. And still you are empty at the end of the day. You are not comfortable in your own skin, at home your head is still at work, and you spend the weekend recovering instead of enjoying.

What is that company worth then?

On paper, maybe a lot. In practice it costs you the very things you started for: freedom, pride, time and peace of mind. Many entrepreneurs have built a company in which they have become the weakest link — not for lack of talent, but because they grew into a role that does not fit them.

That is almost never a strategy problem. It is a role problem, an energy problem and sometimes a belief problem.

Why coaching can help

  • You get your time back. In the spirit of Dan Martell's Buy Back Your Time: as an owner, your hour is not just an hour. Every task you keep doing out of habit keeps you away from the work where you make the difference. Coaching helps you see what to delegate, automate or drop — and where to spend more time instead.
  • You start working in your strengths. A company that fits starts with a role that fits. What are you exceptionally good at, what lights you up, and which tasks drain you? Once that is clear, your org chart changes — and usually your results too.
  • You make better decisions. Owners make their biggest decisions alone, in their heads, between two meetings. A good sparring partner slows that down just enough to make it better.
  • You get clarity instead of noise. From "everything is urgent" to the handful of things that genuinely matter.
  • You work on yourself, not only on the business. "Work harder on yourself than you do on your job" — Jim Rohn. A company rarely grows beyond the entrepreneur behind it.
  • You are less alone. Entrepreneurship is beautiful and lonely. A confidential place where you can say anything, without a role or image to protect, is worth more than most tools.

When does coaching make sense?

Coaching is not only for when things go wrong. The best journeys often start at a moment of choice. Does this sound familiar?

  • The business is doing well, but you wonder whether it will still make you happy five years from now.
  • You work hard in your business, but almost never on it any more.
  • You have a team, but you are still the bottleneck in nearly every process.
  • A next step is in sight — scaling, investing, adding a partner, selling — and you want clarity on what you want first.
  • You feel tension between work and private life: less present, shorter fuse, worse sleep.
  • You are empty at the end of the day and cannot quite explain why.
  • You doubt your role: owner, director, craftsman, salesperson or something else entirely?
  • You have success, but miss the feeling that it fits.

Who is it for?

  • Entrepreneurs and owners of companies from 1 to roughly 100 people
  • Managing directors and shareholders who want to spar without politics in the room
  • Growing SMEs where the founder's role is shifting
  • Owners of a healthy business that costs energy instead of giving it
  • Founders and freelancers who want to move from "a nice gig" to a real company
  • Teams around the entrepreneur: sometimes we also coach the people taking over the owner's role

How we work

No model imposed on you, but plenty of structure.

  1. Introduction (no obligation). A one-hour conversation. Where are you, what is going on, and is there a click? No commitment and no sales pitch.
  2. Baseline and direction. What is working, what costs energy, where do you want to go — professionally and personally. Including the things you normally leave unsaid.
  3. Your role, your strengths. We map out where you add the most value and which tasks need to go. Often with a simple time and energy analysis.
  4. A company that fits. From role to organisation: who does what, what we delegate or automate, what we stop.
  5. Rhythm. Usually a conversation every two to four weeks, with short lines in between. Concrete commitments, and next time we look at what actually happened.
  6. Acting where needed. Is the bottleneck in marketing, sales, your website, data or AI? Then we can pick that up too — we are an agency as well. But coaching and execution stay neatly separated.

Coaching, mentoring, consulting: what is the difference?

  • Coaching — you have the answers; the coach helps you find them and actually act on them. Questions before advice.
  • Mentoring — someone with experience in your situation shares what worked and what did not.
  • Consulting — an expert analyses and advises what you should do.

We deliberately sit between coaching and mentoring: professionally trained (NOBCO) and an entrepreneur ourselves since 2010. That means we hold the conversation with a coach's discipline and the pragmatism of someone who has been through payroll, lost clients, growing pains and good years too.

What you take away

  • Clarity about what you want — and what you no longer want
  • A role that fits you, with tasks that give energy
  • Time back in your week, measurably
  • Peace of mind, including on Sunday evening
  • Better conversations with your team, partner and clients
  • A company that grows without burning you out

"Don't wish it were easier, wish you were better." — Jim Rohn

Frequently asked questions about business coaching

What exactly is business coaching?

+

Business coaching means confidential conversations in which you, as an entrepreneur, get clear on what you want, which role fits you and which choices move your company forward. Not advice from above, but questions, structure and concrete commitments that actually get you moving.

Who is business coaching for?

+

For entrepreneurs, owners, managing directors and management of companies from 1 to roughly 100 people. Also for founders and freelancers who want to move from a healthy practice to a real company, and for people taking over the owner's role.

When does coaching make sense?

+

Often at a moment of choice: the business is doing well, but you wonder whether this is still what you want five years from now. Or you are the bottleneck in every process, you are empty at the end of the day, or a big step is coming up such as scaling, investing or selling.

What is the difference between coaching, mentoring and consulting?

+

In coaching you have the answers and the coach helps you find them and act on them. In mentoring someone with experience in your situation shares what worked. In consulting an expert analyses and advises what you should do. We deliberately sit between coaching and mentoring.

What does NOBCO-trained mean?

+

NOBCO is the Dutch professional body for coaches. A NOBCO-trained coach works to a professional standard and ethical code of conduct, with confidentiality as the starting point.

How often and how long does a coaching journey last?

+

Usually a one-and-a-half to two hour conversation every two to four weeks, with short lines in between. Journeys often run three to twelve months, but you are never locked in: we evaluate along the way whether it is still helping you.

What does business coaching cost?

+

That depends on the format and frequency. The first introductory conversation is always free and without obligation; after that we agree a clear rate per session or per journey, with no long-term commitments.

Is a coaching conversation confidential?

+

Always. Everything you discuss stays between you and your coach. That is the basic condition for being able to name the things you normally leave unsaid.

Can coaching be combined with execution, such as marketing or a website?

+

It can, but we keep it separate. If the bottleneck turns out to sit in marketing, sales, your website, data or AI, our specialists can pick that up. The coaching itself stays a separate, confidential line.

Does coaching also help with stress and work-life balance?

+

Yes. Many entrepreneurs do not have a strategy problem but a role and energy problem. We look concretely at what fills your week, what costs energy and what can go, so you get time and peace of mind back. For mental health complaints we refer you to an appropriate professional.

Where do the conversations take place?

+

At our office at Willemstraat 1 in Eindhoven, at your location, while walking, or online. Whatever makes the conversation best.
