MQL and SQL

Email and CRM
An MQL is a lead marketing considers interested enough to follow up; an SQL is a lead sales has reviewed and judged worth pursuing.
The distinction only helps when both teams share one written definition. Otherwise marketing delivers what it likes and sales complains about quality.
Measure the flow between the steps: how many MQLs become SQLs, how many SQLs become customers. That shows immediately whether you need more leads or better ones.
